Carnival Cruise Lines is the first major U.S. cruise line to have its full fleet of ships back in service since the summer of 2021. The cruise line has now welcomed two million passengers.

The two million passenger milestone celebrations occurred this week in Port Canaveral, Florida.

Carnival Cruise Line’s president, Christine Duffy says, “We are so pleased to have sailed two million guests since our restart, providing much-needed vacations featuring our signature fun to an array of destinations in the Caribbean, The Bahamas, the Mexican Riviera, Alaska, and Europe.”

Duffy goes on to say, “All the while, providing an economic boost to the destinations and providing our crew members with opportunities to support their families.”

World Travel Awards has nominated Carnival Cruise Lines as the Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Line for 2022.

The cruise line will restart in June in New York City, its 14th homeport. Carnival Splendor will restart in Australia with a three-day cruise departing from Sydney in October 2022.

According to Carnival, there have been over 1.3 million shore excursions in Carnival destination ports. Carnival is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Carnival employs over 40,000 team members from 120 nationalities. The cruise line’s newest ship, Mardi Gras features the first roller coaster at sea and in the Americas. As a part of Carnival’s 50th Birthday celebrations, the Carnival Celebration ship will debut in late 2022 from PortMiami. Carnival Jubilee will debut from Galveston, Texas in 2023.
