Are you not too keen about flying right now? That’s understandable. Don’t want to put any miles on your car? That, too, is understandable.

Are you just looking for a new and exciting places to go during quarantine? Hello Amtrak! Recently, due to Covid-19 there has been a spike in train travel. Amtrak is not a new concept, but one that seems to be forgotten. However, these routes are sure to leave a lasting impression.

The “Cascades” Route – 10 Hours 25 Minutes

This route begins in Vancouver, British Columbia and ends in Oregon. While onboard you will see the many things nature has to offer, from mountains to waterfalls and even some wildlife sightings. It is said if you are lucky you may see a whale or dolphin or both on your journey.

The “California Zephyr”  Route – 51 Hours

This route is NOT for the faint of heart, this route is a total of 51 hours. However, the reputation of this route speaks volumes. This route comes equipped with a sightseer’s deck, meaning for most of the trip you will have direct access to a full glass deck to view the sights (Rocky Mountains, Colorado’s Gore, Byers and Glenwood Canyons, Winter Park, Truckee River and more) . You start in the windy city (Chicago), while making stops in Omaha, Denver, and Salt Lake City eventually ending in San Francisco.

The “Crescent” Route – 30 Hours

For the person usually on the go, I would suggest this route. This train ride starts in New York and ends in the great city of New Orleans. Break out your laptop and be sure to get a window seat. From time to time, peek out and see the differences in every city you pass, as you go from the hustle and bustle of a big city to the calmness of the south.
