By Shontel Horne
Jessica Nabongo is embarking on the travel challenge of a lifetime to visit every country in the world, and she wants to do it all by next spring.
An avid traveler and founder of her own boutique travel company called Global Jet Black, the Detroit-native is more than halfway through her journey having already visited more than 100 countries and territories on six continents. Once Jessica completes her ambitious goal, she will be the first black woman on record to visit every country in the world.
As of now, Jessica has been to 106 of the 195 countries on her list and she’s giving herself just 14 months to visit the rest. She has been to a total of 115 countries and territories in her lifetime, though several are not recognized as official nations. On her list of places to visit is Armenia, South Korea, Latvia, Barbados, Tonga, Chile, Mali, Somalia and Estonia.
A lifelong traveler, Jessica had already visited 18 countries and territories by the time she finished high school. Between 2009 and 2011 her wanderlust grew stronger and she reached her 46th country by the time she was 30.
