As Paris moves into its new normal, new concepts are being introduced to allow residents to enjoy their favorite activities while staying safe. One of those concepts is a floating movie theater.

As movie theaters begin to reopen, this temporary floating theater will be set up along the Seine.

Cinéma sur l’Eau,” or Cinema on the Water, will take place on July 18 with 38 electric boats seating anywhere from 4 to 6 people at a time. The boats will allow people to gather while still social distancing.

As of now, this will only happen for one night, and local Parisians will need to enter a contest to secure their spot on one of the boats. But, there is a possibility that the concept can become a regular thing in the near future.

It will be interesting to see if other destinations, especially in the United States, will introduce something similar The movie theater industry has completely shut down since COVID-19 hit and this may be a great way to get it up and running.
