Costa del Sol is one of the most beloved regions in all of Spain due to its laidback charm and distinctive culture, art and food that’s unique to Southern Spain. It’s nowhere near Spain’s bustling epicenter Madrid and it’s a completely different coastal community than you’ll find in Barcelona. Costa del Sol is a world of its own and that alone makes it special.

To get to Costa del Sol, you’ll want to fly into Málaga Airport, which is Spain’s fourth busiest airport. The cheapest flights we found were from Boston, with Norwegian offering tickets for as little as $381 round-trip for travel in January 2019. $412 flights were available for travel between New York and Málaga via Air Europa, and travel was available from the low 400s between November 2018 and February 2019.

If you’re departing from Chicago, flights were a bit more expensive at $618 for travel beginning in October, and we also spotted deals to Málaga from the East Coast for those traveling from Baltimore (starting at $581), Philadelphia (starting at $645) and Washington D.C. (starting at $624).

Miami-based travelers can kick off 2019 in Costa del Sol thanks to flights starting at $467 via Tap Air Portugal for travel in January and February, and flights from Atlanta for November/December travel can be found right now in the mid 600s. Folks in Los Angeles can find deals with Norwegian starting at $477 round-trip, and there are also West Coast sale fares to Málaga from Seattle (starting at $496) and San Francisco ($673).
