This flight deal is almost too good to be true. Jet Blue and Spirit are currently running fare sales to Medellin, Colombia. The lowest route found is from Pittsburgh to Medellin for $244 roundtrip.

Most of the departure cities are on the East coast. Those cities include Boston, D.C., and Philadelphia. This sale is also for flights departing in September and October. Use Google Flights to find your perfect route.

Colombia is one of the trendiest and cheapest destinations in South America. Medellin, the second largest city in Colombia, is home to many beautiful churches, museums, and gardens. It is nicknamed “City of Eternal Spring” for its temperate weather.

A few must-see sites while in Medellin:

The Medellin Metro Cable System: Take one of the three cars lines to the top for gorgeous views of the city and the mountains in the distance.

Plaza Botero: Here you will find works by the famous Medellin sculptor, Fernando Botero. He specialized in oversized human figures.

The Basilica Metropolitana in the Parque de Bolivar: This is said to be the largest brick church in all of South America.

Pueblito Paisa: A replica of a traditional Antioquiana village, complete with handicraft shops.

La Comuna 13: Once deemed a dangerous neighborhood, this area has undergone a complete transformation. The focal point here are the outdoor escalators as well as the murals and graffiti.

Palacio de la Cultura Rafael Uribe Uribe: This beautiful black and white Gothic Revival building is home to stunning corridors and ornate rooms, some of which contain rotating art.

A few tips before heading to Medellin:

The local attire is a bit formal, so leave the flip-flops at home. Men should wear long pants, and women should pack nice sundresses.

The water in Medellín is safe to drink, although most hotels will provide bottled water just in case. If you’re traveling to rural areas outside of the city, it’s smart to only drink bottled water.
