Flight Deal: San Jose, Costa Rica For Under $200

Hey, Texas! The flight deal Gods are showing you some love. United Airlines has dropped fares from Dallas to San Jose, Costa Rica for as low as $198 round-trip.

 

These low priced flights are a part of United’s basic economy class. With this fare class the following rules apply:

 

  • No overhead bin access
  • You cannot make a seat selection
  • There are no ticket changes
  • Thee are no upgrades

 

If you are not comfortable with these restrictions, you have the option to upgrade to regular economy for an additional $50. Under this class, you will have access to the overhead bins and you will be able to choose a seat at the time of purchase.

This deal spans from late January through early March. You can use Google Flights to find dates and the most up-to-date pricing.

 

San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica and the countries largest city. January through March brings the least amount of rainfall, so there’s no better time to travel to this beautiful country.


 

Whether its a beach or greenery that you desire, Costa Rica can provide both. It is best to rent a car while there for best exploration. Liberia, Costa Rica is only a drive away from the capital city.

 

For those that decide to stay in Liberia, you will get an authentic glimpse into Costa Rican daily life. It is said that while there, you must try Jugo de Caña (sugar cane juice) and Copos (snow cones) from local vendors.

 

If you want to learn more about the culture, visit Guanacaste Museum (Museo de Guanacaste), which displays work from local and national artists to represent Costa Rica’s abolishment of military, and its effect on the civility of the of the country as a whole.
