Over the last few days, the prices for several routes from Washington, D.C. to Africa have been reduced. Some of the lowest-priced routes are to Cape Town, South Africa or Johannesburg for around $550.

These routes do include a pretty long layover in Zurich for the departure and Frankfurt on the return. You could turn it into a day of exploring before catching your next flight.

Another low-priced option is to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for around $575.

Additional routes include Nairobi, Madagascar, Rwanda, and Togo. You can use Google Flights to find the route that works best for you. This reduced price is valid for travel departing through March 31.
