The FBI launching an investigation after a pilot reported seeing a man flying with a jet pack near Los Angeles International Airport–another plot twist for the expected events of 2020.

“Tower, American 1997. We just passed a guy in a jet pack,” the American Airlines’ pilot reportedly told the control tower. The pilot flying over LAX at an altitude of 3,000 feet.

“American 1997, okay thank you. Were they off to your left or right side?” the tower operator asked.

The pilot responds, “off the left side, maybe 300 yards or so, about our altitude.”

And as bizarre as this call sounds, a JetBlue pilot called in to report the same thing.

“We just saw the guy pass us by in the jet pack,” the Jet Blue Airways pilot told control power.

A FBI spokesperson confirmed that the agency is investigating the pilots’ claims.

“The FBI is aware of the reports by pilots on Sunday and is working to determine what occurred,” the agency told the Los Angeles Times in a statement.

And while the world’s waits for the FBI’s report on who this mysterious person is, people on social media have their own theories.

“Watching the news this morning .. Plane in LA called Air Traffic Control and said “A man is flying around 3000 FT on a Jetpack” .. Talk about wanting to get the hell out of here,” one Twitter user stated.

“Oh, that LAX report of a jetpack guy was a marketing stunt,” another user stated.

For others, a pilot seeing a jetpack is the only thing that makes sense right now.

But for the rest of us, the question is where can we get that jetpack?
