Earlier this month, Forbes officially named Barbados entertainment princess Rihanna, the music industry’s wealthiest woman.

While fans have been growing impatient over the singer’s next music release, Rihanna has definitely been about her business behind the scenes. With her hands now in everything from Fenty Beauty to Fenty Savage X and her latest partnership with LVMH, it’s no surprise that her home country wants to honor her.

“Anybody who could go from Rihanna’s humble beginnings to become “the most successful woman entertainer” in the entire globe, in my view deserves to be recognized in her life as a living legend of Barbados as well,” Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley said in a statement.

It appears that plans to make the museum happen are already in the works. Conversations between Rihanna’s brother, who is also her manager, and the Barbados government have begun.

At just 16 years old, the singer moved to the United States after being recognized in Barbados. The man who discovered her quickly put her on the fast track to becoming a star. She burst onto the music scene with her pop hit ‘Pon De Replay’ and hasn’t looked back since.

In 2018, Rihanna was appointed an ambassador to her country by the Barbados government. Her responsibilities include investment for the country, tourism, and education.

There is currently a “Rihanna Experience” at the Museum of Science in Boston that features a light show and playback of some of her greatest hits in a Planetarium, however, this museum would be the first solely dedicated to all things Rihanna.

There is no word yet on when the museum would open or even would construction would begin. But, it does look as though it is definitely happening sooner than later.
