Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line Providing Free Lunch Buffet For Federal Workers

PUBLISHED: April 26, 2019

It looks like everyone is pitching in to help the federal workers who have been out of work for 30 days.

Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line is now offering a free lunch buffet for any federal workers traveling with them. If employees are on board from January 21 to January 31, the cruise line is also offering fun incentives from noon to 3 p.m. The deal isn’t available on Friday, January 25 or Saturday, January 26. Hopefully, the government shutdown is over by then, but by the looks of things, there is no need to get our hopes up.

The gesture is thoughtful but not every federal employee will be able to participate. The cruise ships participating, the Grand Celebration and the Grand Classica, are located at the Port of Palm Beach in Riviera, Florida. To join in on the fun, federal workers have to make a reservation with the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line Customer service desk. After they arrive, they’ll need to show their federal ID at visitor check-in.

Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line is estimated to host more than 500,000 passengers per year and is the largest contributor to tourism on Grand Bahama Island. The cruise line is known for helping those in need. They just had cruise ships return from Massachusetts, where they helped residents get service back after gas line explosions. They also provided shelter to first responders and members of the U.S. National Guard in St. Thomas while assisting with the rebuild of the island after it was hit by Hurricane Irma.

So far, the cruise industry is the only transportation space that hasn’t been affected by President Trump’s government shutdown. Given the current situation, travelers should still be cautious of their flights that are getting them to cruises. Cruise lines have warned passengers to arrive at least two hours early for domestic flights and three hours early for international flights.
