With only a week left until Christmas Day, a new survey reveals that Americans are unlikely to travel this holiday.
According to the American Hotel and Lodging Association’s survey, 72% of Americans said they were unlikely to travel for Thanksgiving and 62% said they are unlikely to travel during Christmas. 62% of Americans say they will not be traveling for spring break in 2021.
This year’s COVID-19 pandemic has infected over 52.4 million people globally and there have been over 1.28 million deaths around the world. More specifically, the United States has had over 10.44 million infections and over 242,070 reported deaths.
Many companies have changed to remote work this year, resulting in employees traveling less for work.
COVID-19 cases are rising across the U.S., leading to increased hospitalisations and Americans putting travel on the back burner.
The survey reveals that 3 in 10 Americans have embarked on an overnight trip since March 2020.
