The cozy season is here. That means it’s time to warm up and embrace being a homebody. But, if Holiday travels are out of scope for you — don’t worry. You can still be transported to different cultures and experiences right from the comfort of your home. Netflix and other streaming platforms have various movies and shows that highlight different destinations, cultures, and traditions.

The next time you are in a travel rut or need inspiration for your next trip, binge-watch these shows and movies below.

1. The World Most Amazing Vacation Rentals

From luxury properties in Antarctica to sweet escapes in Bali, Netflix’s “The World Most Amazing Vacation Rentals” series takes viewers on a journey of the hottest stays across the globe. The show is hosted by content creators Jo Franco and Megan Batoon, along with Bravo star Luis D. Ortiz. Each host provides their unique taste and perspective on the properties visited. Their properties aren’t just for show; most are available to book on AIRBNB.

2. Uncorked

Netflix Uncorked takes viewers on a journey to experience the Black wine industry. The film was inspired by DLynn Proctor’s journey to becoming a master sommelier despite his family’s pushback. In addition, it’s the first wine movie that features a majority Black cast. According to VinePair, Black people have a 1.2 trillion dollar buying power but are often overlooked and excluded from the wine industry — Uncorked seeks to change that and be a cultural shift within the industry.

3. High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America

This in-depth docu-series on Netflix explores the impact of African American culinary history. Chef and host Stephen Satterfield takes viewers on a journey and notes that Black food is American food. The 4-part series shows viewers the impact of food culture and is based on a novel by Dr.Jessica B Harris.
