2. Uncorked

Netflix Uncorked takes viewers on a journey to experience the Black wine industry. The film was inspired by DLynn Proctor’s journey to becoming a master sommelier despite his family’s pushback. In addition, it’s the first wine movie that features a majority Black cast. According to VinePair, Black people have a 1.2 trillion dollar buying power but are often overlooked and excluded from the wine industry — Uncorked seeks to change that and be a cultural shift within the industry. 

3. High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America

This in-depth docu-series on Netflix explores the impact of African American culinary history. Chef and host Stephen Satterfield takes viewers on a journey and notes that Black food is American food. The 4-part series shows viewers the impact of food culture and is based on a novel by Dr.Jessica B Harris.
