2Chainz And NFL Star Larry Fitzgerald Are The Latest To Invest In Car Sharing App Turo
These days travelers around the world appreciate convenience. Apps like Uber and Airbnb make it easy to navigate the world with only a click of a button from your handheld device.
In keeping up with the trend of convenience, a new car sharing app has entered the market. Turo is said to be the Airbnb of car sharing service, making it easy for consumers to choose a car and pick it up almost anywhere in the world. And like Airbnb, private car owners are able to list and rent out their vehicles on the platform without a middle-man.
The app has been gaining popularity since it’s creation in 2010 and most recently, rapper 2Chainz and NFL-star Larry Fitzgerald decided to put money into the company to propel it even farther.
Other NFL athletes including Dee Ford, Tyrod Taylor, Malcolm Jenkins, and Clint McDonald; NBA stars Victor Oladipo, Langston Galloway, and Thad Young have also invested.
“I’m excited to invest in Turo because its a marketplace I use when I travel professionally and am with my family,” Larry Fitzgerald said in a statement. “Turo is a no-brainer because they are providing something the traditional rental car companies do not. Better selection, value, and convenience.”
The purpose of the app is to make selecting a car easier than having to stand in line at a rental car office. Once you download the app, you can choose from hundreds of cars from high-end luxury vehicles to SUVs. You are then able to have the car delivered to your location or pick it up in destinations across the U.S., Canada, Germany, or United Kingdom.
Prices are said to be up to 35% less than those at traditional rental car companies.
Turo works with Liberty Mutual Insurance company and you are able to select insurance coverage based on your needs.
