It’s been a few months since we’ve been in quarantine. During these months, a lot of us have canceled travel plans and are anticipating international borders to reopen. 

March and April may have felt hopeless, but May is showing that things are starting to look up. In fact, there are even signs that the travel economy will recover.

Here are 15 positive signs that the industry will bounce back:

Amtrak Resuming Routes

Amtrak is reopening some of its routes in the Northeast and is predicting a rise in sales.

Los Cabos’ Hotels Reopening

Mexico’s tourist hot spot Los Cabos will be reopening next month along with about 40 percent of hotels. The hotels will now be following strict sanitizing policies.

UK Restaurants Reopening In July

The UK was hit hard by COVID-19 but is now planning on reopening restaurants in July. 

Spain Opening Borders

Spain is planning on opening borders towards the end of June.

Italy Opening Borders For EU Travelers

Italy will be allowing European travelers to enter on June 3rd. Social distancing guidelines will still be enforced.

Shanghai Disneyland Has Reopened

China is making efforts to getting back to normal, opening Shanghai Disneyland. Packaged tours to the theme park have started selling again despite social distancing requirements.

International Borders Reopening For International Tourism

Greece, Iceland, and Turkey are planning to open it’s international borders to tourists next month. 

Ryanair Resuming Regular Flights

Ryanair has plans to resume 40 percent of its flights in July.

People are out and about in Hong Kong dining at its restaurants which have reopened. 

Emirates Resuming Flights

The major airline is resuming flights to major long-haul destinations including London, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Chicago, Toronto, Sydney, and Melbourne. 

Vietnam Is Reopening To Tourists

Vietnam is the first country in Southeast Asia to resume tourism. The country has 270 cases and zero COVID-19 deaths. 

NYC Thinking Of Resuming Tourism 

NYC is the city affected most by COVID-19 and is currently working on a plan to reopen the tourism industry. This is a major stride that was unimaginable a few weeks ago. 

Flight Searches In The U.S. Are Rising

People are searching for flights online in the U.S. and are ready to give their coins to the travel industry. Skift reports that travelers are searching for flights to Honolulu, Las Vegas and Louisville this summer. 

The Czech Republic Eases International Travel Bans

The Czech Republic has resumed international bus and rail links. The routes of the bus and rail links will be determined by the restrictions of the neighbouring countries.
