New York is like a garden of flowers with its many options. There’s always something to do, in town or nearby. From its grimy streets, district buildings, and niche foodies, New York has a lot to offer outside of Times Square.

Here are 13 Best day trips from New York just a few hours away.

Washington, D.C.

Aside from its heavy political persona, D.C. is a melting pot of historic culture, music, and food.

Empire State Building

Explore the innovative experience and breathtaking views of the Big Apple from the Empire State building.

Governor’s Island

Ride the ferry to Governor’s Island for some zip lining, rock climbing, kayaking, and other adventurous outdoor activities.

Philadelphia, PA
