Hawaiian Airlines is making it easier for passengers to get a COVID-19 test.
The airline recently announced that airline loyalty members can redeem their miles for a pre-travel test kit. Each mail-in kit, made by Vault Health, is available for 14,000 miles.
“We remain dedicated to making testing for our guests as convenient and accessible as possible, so we’re incredibly pleased to extend our partnership with Vault Health to allow our HawaiianMiles members to purchase their at-home test kit with miles,” said Avi Mannis, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Hawaiian Airlines.
Passengers who redeem their miles for a COVID-19 test have to collect their own saliva sample. A testing supervisor will be available over video to help passengers with the test.
Once complete, the sample will be shipped express to a lab and analyzed within 24 hours of the sample being received. Hawaiian estimates the turnaround time will be under 72 hours, which is the time period most destinations require for entry.
